KITCHEN'S CELLAR BAR GONE FOREVER

Friday 31 December 2021

18/20 Cellar Bar on Lake Road, Keswick has closed permanently and has now been converted into holiday lets.

Prior to being bought by the current owners this used to be Kitchen's Cellar Bar, run by popular larger-than-life local character, the late Geoff Kitchen, who prior to that had owned the Skiddaw Hotel and whose family were proprietors of the Skelwith Bridge Hotel many moons ago. Geoff kept a cracking pint of Marston's Pedigree and had Bitburger German beer on draught in the cellar bar downstairs. He regularly got lads in from the Keswick Mountain Rescue Team. His signature dish was Seafood Chowder.

So a desperately sad end to what used to be one of the top bars in Keswick. RIP Kitchen's Cellar Bar
