Royal Oak, Braithwaite
Friday 13 October 2023
Good to see that the Royal Oak in the heart of Braithwaite village is doing well. 5 real ales on sale and excellent staff. Price of a pint is £4.20, which is a lot more reasonable that its two nearest rivals, the Coledale Inn and the Ruddings, which are both under the same ownership
The Royal Oak is a former Jennings house, now part of the Marston’s Pub Company, so draught ales are from the Marston’s stable, including Jennings Cumberland Ale.
A friendly, well run establishment. Worth a visit. The Cumberland Ale I drank a couple of days ago was in splendid condition
This popular pub with bedrooms was run for many years by Terry Franks, who moved on to run the Old Posting House pub near Deanscales.
