Pub profile : Tweedies Bar, Grasmere
Tweedies Bar is at the centre of this iconic village and just a stone’s throw from the Church and William Wordsworth’s grave.
The village certainly has a host of golden daffodils fluttering and dancing in the breeze at the moment.
This is the most popular real ale bar in Grasmere and has a huge beer garden, being part of Tweedies Hotel. Always a great range of handpumped ales on sale, this bar has been a regular entry in the Good Beer Guide for years.
During gaps in the pandemic the hotel hired a large marquee.
Next door is the modest sized award-winning Jumble Room restaurant, where it is always essential to book, but bar meals are also excellent in Tweedies.
And no better place in the area to drink ‘al fresco’ on a sunny day.
