This is a large, comfortable and welcoming pub, under new management and recently reopened after extensive remodelling and renovation. It has a separate eating area. It's very popular with diners (booking recommended)) but is very much a community pub: it has not lost its 'drinker-friendly' atmosphere. There are events to support nominated local charities, (currently Allerdale & Copeland Autism Support), Sky and BT Sports, and a separate games area. Quiz night is Thursdays at 9pm.
